A Solar Bicycle Path in Vernier,
Competition

Located on the edge of an agricultural zone, the structure is inspired by a greenhouse to blend into the rural landscape. With a simple and familiar aesthetic, it creates a strong visual connection with its natural surroundings.

Designed to be sustainable and efficient, the project seeks an optimal balance between solar energy production—thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels—and the reduction of embodied energy associated with construction. Made from a lattice of bent steel tubes, it stands out for its lightness and elegance. Its shape, optimized to meet structural constraints, combines aesthetics with airy minimalism. Finally, the proposed screw foundation system reduces environmental impact by minimizing construction time and preserving the natural soil.

The linear pathway, like a ribbon following circulation axes, guides users through both near and distant landscapes. Its regular and symmetrical rhythm offers a calming visual experience, while ensuring comfort and functionality: providing shade and coolness in summer, as well as shelter from the rain.
