Designed for adolescents requiring specialized education, the Hélios School is conceived to foster the personal development of its residents.
The needs assessment and overall concept were developed in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team that runs the facility. This preliminary study led, in particular, to the division of the space into distinct zones, facilitating the progressive appropriation of the school environment by the students. Transitions between activity areas are marked symbolically—through changes in color and height—serving as thresholds between spaces.
Key considerations for a project of this nature, maintenance and durability were integrated from the design phase, guiding material choices based on their robustness and ease of upkeep.
Construction is carried out on a particularly tight schedule, ensuring a calm and stress-free welcome for students at the start of the school year.
