Today’s Carina Hotel is the result of the transformation of a former family guesthouse from the 1950s into a hotel retreat, combining simplicity, authenticity, and contemporary Alpine design.
Born out of a coincidence—a snowstorm that confined the architects from the firm who had come to stay for a weekend in the then guesthouse for a few days—the project turned into an architectural and human adventure, where hospitality is relaxed, friendly, and local.
The architecture combines wood, stone, and natural light to create a simple yet warm space, where comfort is expressed with understated elegance.
Designed as a refuge open to all—hikers, families, travellers—with all the amenities of a hotel, the Carina revisits Alpine hospitality through a bespoke design, created in collaboration with Swiss artisans and manufacturers.
The project embodies sustainable and local hospitality, where the human experience takes precedence over the formal nature of traditional hotels.
