Housing and Commercial Spaces on the Banks of the Rhone
Competition – 2nd Prize

In continuity with the surrounding architecture, the façades of the Saule-idarité project reinterpret elements of the industrial built heritage to integrate harmoniously into the urban context.

The program is organized vertically into several distinct parts: on the ground floor, the Atelier Galiffe with its arcade, the entrance to the residences, and a space for bicycles. On the first and second floors, apartments are accessed via a glazed gallery, while the third floor includes two shared apartments, one of which is a cluster composed of several studios, completing ensemble.

The circulation paths and sequences within the building play a fundamental role, offering a progression from public spaces to shared spaces, then private ones. This treatment of sequences and the gradation of social spaces encourage interactions and strengthen connections among residents. The layout of corridors and apartments has been designed so that everyone can fully benefit from southern exposure and views of the Rhône, creating a bright and pleasant living environment.
